In terms of its firepower the boat has no rivals worldwide in its class.

The ATx-20 boat is a high­speed skimming vessel. Its hull has deep V-shaped contours and is made from aluminum-magnesium alloy. The boat is designed to perform patrol missions, operate in territorial waters on call and supervise inner and outer roads of ports and harbors, as well as adja­cent littoral zones.

The basic version of the boat propulsion plant comprises two M 470 diesel engines, which develop a maximum power of 1,030 kW each, and two Arneson ASD-14 drives with partially submerged propellers.

The Project 12150V boat's navigation equipment consists of a navigation radar, a com­puterized electronic chart plot­ter, a gyrocompass, a magnet­ic compass, a passive sonar system, as well as a log and an echo sounder.

Radio communications facili­ties comprise:

• - VHF radio stations (sta­
  tionary and portable);
• - SW/DW radio station;
• - COSPAS-SORSAT systemradio buoy.

In addition to the Vikhr-K gun/missile system, the Project 12150V boat is armed with a 14.5mm pedestal-mounted machine gun with an ammuni­tion allowance of 500 rounds. At customer's request, the boat can be armed with the 7.62mm PKMB machine gun, the AGS-17 automatic grenade launch­er, and the DP-64 hand-held grenade launcher for use against divers. Mangust is also equipped with an outboard motor-driven inflatable run­about boat provided with a launching gear.

One of the modifications of this project is the Mangust (Project 12150) patrol boat.

The boat is designed to:

-  operate in territorial waters on call;

• - supervise inner and outer roads of ports and harbors, as well as adjacent littoral zones;
• - perform marine policing, customs service and fishery inspection missions in littoral zones.

The boat is armed with a 14.5mm pedestal-mounted machine gun with an ammuni­tion allowance of 1,000 belted rounds stowed in ammunition boxes.

At customer's request, the boat can be armed with the following weapons:

- 7.62mm   PKMB  machine gun (one or two sets);

- AGS-17 automatic grenade launcher;

- DP-64 hand-held grenade launcher for use against divers;

• - Igla portable air-defense missile system;
• - light diving outfit.
